Have you found yourself floundering a bit and need the soothing words of God to go down deep into your spirit to give you the shot of encouragement you need to keep going? Maybe you have tried to pray but came up dry? Perhaps you have heard about praying scripture but just weren't sure what that meant?

Yeah, me too. If we are honest I think we have all visited that place a time or two. When I have found myself at that point recently, I grabbed my Bible and turned a few verses into personal prayers, and prayed God's Word back to him.

PRAY WITH YOUR SWORD OF TRUTH

Life is full of ups and downs, trials, and tribulations. We can't change that. But when we are faced with those issues that try to bring us down, there isn't anything more powerful in our spiritual warfare than God's sword of truth.

In a personal way, sweet Jesus has shown me that he listens intently to every prayer we pray. He doesn't care if it is plain words or fancy speak; Jesus loves to hear it all. When prayed according to God's will, he responds to every prayer uttered.

How do you make sure you are praying in God's will? By praying his very own words back to him.

PRAYER IS AN ACT OF FAITH

When we pray we are showing with our words and actions where we are placing our hope and trust. We are telling God that we need him, not what he could or should do for us, but HIM. We are extending faith (after all, there isn't any physical evidence that anyone is listening or that anything will happen). Prayer is an extremely powerful act of faith.

PRAYERS THAT ENCOURAGE YOU TO KEEP GOING

“So we have continued praying for you ever since we first heard about you.
We ask God to give you a complete understanding of what he wants to do in your lives, and we ask him to make you wise with spiritual wisdom. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and you will continually do good, kind things for others. All the while, you will learn to know God better and better.
We also pray that you will be strengthened with his glorious power so that you will have all the patience and endurance you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father, who has enabled you to share the inheritance that belongs to God's Holy people, who live in the light.”

Lord God, I know that you have prompted many of your saints to pray for me and I thank you for that blessing. God, I am feeling lost and confused and need you to give me a complete understanding of what you want to do in my life about ________. Please make me wise with spiritual wisdom. Help me to always honor and please you with the way I live by doing good, kind things for others. Help me to crave learning to know you better and better.

God, please strengthen me with your glorious power so that I will have all the patience and endurance I need. Fill me with your joy. May I never forget to thank you, Father God, for enabling me to share the inheritance that belongs to your holy people. In Jesus' mighty name I pray, Amen!

Sweet Jesus, from your glorious, unlimited resources give me your inner strength from your Holy Spirit. Christ, I desire to trust you so that you are more and more at home in my heart.

God, help my spiritual roots to do down deep into the soil of your marvelous love. Give me the power and clarity to understand how wide, how long, how high, how deep your love for me really is.

Though I will never fully understand just how great your love for me is, I ask that you help me to experience the fullness of your love, Christ Jesus, so that I will be filled with the fullness of life and power that only comes from you. Amen.
